Music on Main Street
Main Street, Chatham (from the Rotary to the Chatham Inn at 359 Main), Mondays until August 20th, 5:30PM to 9:00PM.
The Chatham Merchants Association has labored to bring Mondays on Main from concept to reality! (Cape Cod Tree & Landscape’s co-owner Chris Smith worked on the CMA’s Mondays on Main subcommittee.) The idea was to not only breathe life into Chatham’s downtown businesses on what might normally be a slow night, but also to provide opportunities for local musicians and to offer residents and visitors alike a fun night on the town. Each week will have a different theme: Country Night, July 30; First Responder Night, Aug. 6; Classic Rock Night, Aug. 13; and lastly, Fun in the Summer Sun, Aug. 20. In addition to musical entertainment there will be children’s face painting and other performers such as jugglers and magicians. Many of the Main Street restaurants and shops will be featuring special promotions each Monday.
Downtown Orleans, Tuesdays until August 15th, 5:00PM to 7:00PM.
The Friends of Snow Library and the Orleans Improvement Association are sponsoring a weekly series of concerts, each with a special theme: Folk, Aug. 1; Country, Aug. 8; and Blues, Aug. 15.
Enjoy a leisurely stroll through downtown Orleans, stopping a various locations (such as the Art Cottages at Orleans Marketplace, the Village Green, Parish Park, and Main Street Square) to listen to the music. Don’t forget to grab a bite to eat and browse the shops.
Main Street, Harwich Port, Wednesdays until August 29th, 6:00PM – 9:00PM
This musical event has been around for years and continues to attract the crowds! Be sure to get there early to find a parking spot! Themes: Country Night & Touch a Truck; Aug. 1; Battle of the Decades; Aug. 8; Blues and Jazz, Aug. 15; Days of Summer, Aug. 22; and Last Blast of Summer, Aug. 29th. While you’re in the area plan check out the many shops and slake your thirst and appease your appetite at one of Harwich Port’s eateries.
